The Dyson Groom

January 13th, 2011

The Dyson Groom – In my opinion the product is truly a remarkable product.  It is not the development of a vacuum based dog grooming tool that is remarkable, But the fact that it has been designed, manufactured, and is now for sale from a respectable leader in the home appliance industry. Generally when you think of a vacuum based grooming tool your mind is going to go directly for the suck-cut from Wayne’s world or something you are likely to see a cheesy pitchman displaying it’s amazing power hour after hour on QVC or some other infomercial. What you don’t expect to see is the company responsible for how most new vacuum create suction, a bladeless fan, and the most impressive hand dryer on the market selling the product in their lineup of appliances. But it happened.

The Dyson Groom

The Dyson Groom is the latest product release from Dyson.  The product is hand held tool that will attach to the Telescope Reach wand of your Dyson vacuum cleaner, both upright or canister to help remove pet hair and dander from your dog before they have an opportunity to shed it onto your furniture.

The product is described by Dyson as:

How to use the Dyson groom tool

Make sure your dog’s coat is clean and completely dry and has no large knots or tangles. Attach the Dyson groom tool to the hose on your Dyson vacuum cleaner.

Switch the vacuum ON. Groom your dog in the direction of the coat, using smooth, even strokes. Apply a little pressure as you groom to make sure the slicker bristles reach into the undercoat.

To suck the hair away, remove the Dyson groom tool from your dog’s coat and release the trigger.

Why the Dyson Groom?

I am not sure why the Dyson groom was invented, maybe Mr. Dyson has a dog and was tired of his brush. But the reasoning the company says that you should use the Dyson groom is because it is just better than your standard groomer. Most groomers work well enough, however they are very messy. The hair clumps up and has to be removed by hand or it falls on the floor. The Dyson Groom will suck that hair right into the vacuum with now mess, and it will even pick up the pet dander that your standard groomer can’t.

Does the Dyson Groom Work?

I don’t know. I don’t have one. But I would be willing to bet that it works as Dyson is know for making fantastic reliable products. But, and here is a major but, it will only work if you dog wants to be vacuumed. My dog for example runs scared out of any room that I enter with my vacuum cleaner. A Dyson DC24 vacuum cleaner to be exact. Now even if the Dyson Groom was the most fantastic grooming tool in the world I would never be able to put it to use because my dog wouldn’t let me. Although I would love to try because I am tired of the little black hairs floating around everywhere.

The Dyson Groom is not your average Dyson product, but I am sure it was manufactured with their above average standards. If you are interested in a new dog grooming product and have a dog that would agree to be vacuumed then this may just be what you have been looking for.

Dyson DC33 Vs. DC25

The Dyson DC33 Vs. DC25

The Dyson DC33 and Dyson DC25 are different models of upright vacuum cleaners. Although the 2 vacuums have different names, and some differing features, the  are similar is many ways as well. As you follow along this article I intend to inform you of the different styles in which the DC25 and DC33 come in, but I will ultimately let you make your own comparison between they two.  I do this because although I may have my preference between the two models of vacuum cleaners, my opinions are based off of my needs and not yours.  Only you can decide which features are best for you, and whether or not a feature is even beneficial.

Dyson DC25 and DC33 Similiarites

There are several basic similarities between the two models. Dyson includes certain elements that are standard features on all of it’s upright vacuum cleaners.  The vacuums are both equipped with a lifetime Hepa filter that is asthma and allergy friendly. Both vacuums use the patented Dyson Cyclone technology and Hygienic canister. Both vacuums are equipped with an ergonomic handle for carrying and expandable wand for reaching high places and cleaning difficult places.

Dyson DC 25  and DC33 Differences

The most noticeable difference between these two vacuum cleaners is that the DC25 is a “ball” vacuum cleaner.  The Dyson Ball is another patented peice of technology that has changed the way the vacuum cleaner can maneuver.  I can’t say that this piece of technology is good or bad, because I have heard both sides of the story from many different people.  But I do know that I have a DC24 that is also a ball model and I love it very much.  The DC33 is not a ball vacuum. This means that instead of having the ability to quickly turn your vacuum cleaner you must use a more traditional motion such as the swivel technique most of us are used to.  Again, this is neither good nor bad. Many people like the quick maneuverability of the ball vacuum while other have found that it is more difficult on their wrist. A feature that is simple a matter of preference to the user.

Most of the vacuums in Dyson’s lineup styles are offered in multiple styles. For instance the DC25 is offered in an “all floors” model and an “animal” model. The all floors model has been developed to work best, as you have probably guessed, on all floor types. The animal model is built to help remove animal hair and dander and comes with an attachment known as the mini turbine head. The DC33 comes in only one style however. This is a new style from Dyson called the “multi-floor”. I am not 100% certain what makes the multi-floor different from the all floor yet, but if I figure it out I will let you know.

Finally the last major difference between these two cleaners is that the DC33 now comes with a longer expanding wand so you can further your reach when vacuuming.  I can vouch that this is a very nice feature.  The length of the wand on my DC24 is my only complaint about the vacuum.  I end up dragging the vacuum or knocking it over quite frequently while trying to reach something just outside the extend of the wand.

Dyson DC25 Vs. DC33

In all honesty you probably need to do more comparing these two vacuums before you buy one.  I would head to the nearest store and try them out.  I am sure they have floor models available that you could roll along the aisles and see how the feel in your hands.  But either vacuum in my opinon is a great choice because at their core the share the most essential important features.

Dyson DC14 Vs. DC33

Dyson DC14 Vs. DC33

The Dyson DC14 And DC33 are both floor standing models from the Dyson Limited compnay’s extensive line of vacuum cleaners. In this article I hope to point out the similarities and differences between both models of vacuums in order to help you make a more educated decision about which model is right for you. I however will not be telling you which is actually the better vacuum cleaner, because both have their pros and cons, and I do not know exactly what use you will be using the vacuum for.

About the Dyson DC14:

The Dyson DC14 is one of Dyson’s original vacuum cleaners.  The vacuum is available new & used from different online Realtors, but this model is no longer available form the company direct.  The DC14 was one of the original vacuums to help Dyson become one of the world’s leading vacumm manufacturers.

About the Dyson DC33:

The Dyson DC33 is the latest vacuum in Dyson’s lineup.  The new vacuum is equipped with all of Dyson’s standard features including the Dyson Cyclone, Hygenienic Cylinder, & Lifetime Hepa Filter.  The newest feature to be added to the DC33 is a longer extendible wand.  Athough a longer wand will make cleaning high ceilings and behind furniture easier than it would be with the DC14 the offset in price may mean a whole lot more to you.

My Comparison of the DC33 and DC14

Both the DC33 and DC14 are very good vacuums.  For my purposes I could easily choose the DC14 over the DC33 because I have a small home and am shopping on a limited budget.  However if you have the extra cash to spend on the newer vacuum, you will see the benefits of new Dyson engineering.  The older models are equipped with the first generation of the Dyson technology and they are one of the most innovative companies in the industries so I am certain their vacuums have improved with time.
