The Dyson Groom – In my opinion the product is truly a remarkable product. It is not the development of a vacuum based dog grooming tool that is remarkable, But the fact that it has been designed, manufactured, and is now for sale from a respectable leader in the home appliance industry. Generally when you think of a vacuum based grooming tool your mind is going to go directly for the suck-cut from Wayne’s world or something you are likely to see a cheesy pitchman displaying it’s amazing power hour after hour on QVC or some other infomercial. What you don’t expect to see is the company responsible for how most new vacuum create suction, a bladeless fan, and the most impressive hand dryer on the market selling the product in their lineup of appliances. But it happened.
The Dyson Groom
The Dyson Groom is the latest product release from Dyson. The product is hand held tool that will attach to the Telescope Reach wand of your Dyson vacuum cleaner, both upright or canister to help remove pet hair and dander from your dog before they have an opportunity to shed it onto your furniture.
The product is described by Dyson as:
How to use the Dyson groom tool
Make sure your dog’s coat is clean and completely dry and has no large knots or tangles. Attach the Dyson groom tool to the hose on your Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Switch the vacuum ON. Groom your dog in the direction of the coat, using smooth, even strokes. Apply a little pressure as you groom to make sure the slicker bristles reach into the undercoat.
To suck the hair away, remove the Dyson groom tool from your dog’s coat and release the trigger.
Why the Dyson Groom?
I am not sure why the Dyson groom was invented, maybe Mr. Dyson has a dog and was tired of his brush. But the reasoning the company says that you should use the Dyson groom is because it is just better than your standard groomer. Most groomers work well enough, however they are very messy. The hair clumps up and has to be removed by hand or it falls on the floor. The Dyson Groom will suck that hair right into the vacuum with now mess, and it will even pick up the pet dander that your standard groomer can’t.
Does the Dyson Groom Work?
I don’t know. I don’t have one. But I would be willing to bet that it works as Dyson is know for making fantastic reliable products. But, and here is a major but, it will only work if you dog wants to be vacuumed. My dog for example runs scared out of any room that I enter with my vacuum cleaner. A Dyson DC24 vacuum cleaner to be exact. Now even if the Dyson Groom was the most fantastic grooming tool in the world I would never be able to put it to use because my dog wouldn’t let me. Although I would love to try because I am tired of the little black hairs floating around everywhere.
The Dyson Groom is not your average Dyson product, but I am sure it was manufactured with their above average standards. If you are interested in a new dog grooming product and have a dog that would agree to be vacuumed then this may just be what you have been looking for.
